These are our priorities for Staffordshire County Council:

Liberal Democrats for a Caring, Greener County which grows new jobs

  • Caring: better health provision, and promoting healthier life styles. Make Staffordshire a leader in providing social care for vulnerable people. Care for children's education and personal development and resist the Government's aim to provide more 'Free Schools'.
  • Greener: promote long term efficiencies and new jobs in an expanding 'green' sector. Encourage tree planting and other crops to provide biomass fuels, and to reduce flooding risks.
  • New Jobs: work with partners to encourage the growth of jobs in the small and medium business sectors, as well as encouraging inward investment. Recognise what Staffordshire's businesses need in their workforce and improve skills, to tackle the problem of low wages.
